Reviews
After entering through a general store/coffee shop upfront (its main function during the day actually), you end up in an almost, dare I say, cavern-like restaurant. To be clear, I mean that in the best possible way.
Inside the back, you'll find a dimly lit space that somehow achieves that hard balance of feeling like you're in a restaurant and in a bar at the same time (again, the best way possible).
The cocktails are inventive and well done and the wine list is surprisingly well-priced. For food, you have plenty of small plate options worth checking out: from the sushi rice crisps to the chicken liver mouse and scallop corn fritters. While on the larger plate options, we have the shrimp udon (for those expecting a bowl of soup to show up, a heads-up: it's just the noodles with toppings and no broth but delicious nonetheless) as well as the roasted pork sticky rice.
All in all, the place reminds me of a pan-Asian tapas restaurant. Even the restaurant themselves describes the entire menu as "smaller plates designed for snacking, sharing, and pairing" and I think that's pretty spot on.
My suggestion? Come here with the expectation that you're about to order multiple plates to try a bit of each, drink creative cocktails and reasonably priced wine, and enjoy the vibe with someone you maybe want to get to know better.
A real hidden gem! The outside definitely does not accurately reflect the food and atmosphere you will find in the restaurant. The food is delicious and is all Asian inspired. The lamb/beef burger came with pickled ginger and the shrimp toast had fish roe on it. I really enjoyed the michelada, which was spiced with sriracha sauce. The other cocktails were very good too.
The atmosphere is very intimate, with lovely bartenders and waiters. The food is a modern melting pot of different cuisines mixed and inspired from. In the photo soba noodles cooked as it was an Italian pasta dish, the scallops fried in a coconut paste and the most flavorful salad with a light aftertaste sweet taste I’ve ever had. Big choice of liquor and if you go on Wednesday’s the bartender always makes me drinks off the menu based on my mood.
Lovely place for drinks and quick bites. I enjoyed the ambiance very well. Clean bathrooms which is always a plus!
Staff was very attentive!
Sweet spot for drinks with a group or date night.
It’s a speakeasy with no front. Tell the person at the desk you’re going to the back.
All of Bar Beau is the back. It’s a beautiful space. Wherever you sit, whether it’s a date or group, you’re with those people.
Service is excellent. I think they read good times to deliver food; ask what needs to be taken away and if you want another drink.
Walking in is an experience and service delivers.
Delightfully sophisticated food with a vibrant, romantic and design forward interior space. Their outside dinning pavilion is a bit close to the BQE, so book inside if you can. For dinner, get cocktails, scallop corn fritters and the sticky rice pork belly. For bunch, get the breakfast udon and a bloody mary.
beautiful beautiful bar. the interior is amazing. we just stopped by for a drink. got the pilsner and “so sorry” which was soo good. took off one star because the music was awful. i’m sure a lot of people like it but i think for this super chic atmosphere it needs like portishead or sade or something just more downtempo, even trip pop. cool spot if you want to chill but also scream so the people you’re with can hear you
Probably the best winter outdoor dining experience I’ve had! Just four outdoor tables, so ample space between you and other guests with a very toasty heat lamp above and a nice cover for the chairs. Lovely, kind and courteous service and the food was divine.
We started with the scallop corn fritters (with a coat of crunch that is the perfect entry point to the flavor waiting inside). I had the green risotto (creamy and delicious), and my partner had raving reviews for the shrimp udon, which was also our servers favorite dish of the house.
The desert was equally divine — a chocolate walnut crushed croissant cake (the name escapes me) which gave your mouth a beautiful (and not too sweet) journey through texture.
Neighborhood gem! And their coffee is fantastic as well (used to be my office-walk commute go-to).
Easy to make reservations.
